Psycho-education about Mental Health Concerns

Anger
Australian Psychological Society (APS)

Anger is triggered when a person beleives they have been wronged by someone, that something unjust has happened, or that their wellbeing and social status are either not being respected or are under threat.

No person can make us angry, rather anger is influenced by people's thoughts, their interpretation of events and coping skills and available supports.

Burnout
Australian Psychological Society (APS)

Burnout is characterised by extreme exhaustion,
feelings of hopelessness and cynicism, and
ineffectiveness.

Burnout is caused by a
combination of chronic stress, high expectations
and feelings of pressure, often within work,
study, or personal circumstances. Those who
work with people are especially vulnerable
to burnout.

Gambling
Australian Psychological Society (APS)

Gambling can also affect the family members and friends of people who gamble.

A psychologist can help people affected by their own or someone else’s gambling harm by supporting them to reduce their gambling, manage their emotional distress, and improve their overall wellbeing.
